Alicia Jessop
Professor Alicia Jessop is an attorney licensed to practice in California and Colorado who focuses on the intersection of sport, business media, and the law and Pepperdine University. She’s the founder of RulingSports.com and a contributor to The Athletic and The Washington Post.
Her research focuses primarily on the implications of federal and state labor law on the sport industry, which particular focuses on sport agents and athlete protection mechanisms. Additionally, Professor Jessop's research looks at female and minority leadership in intercollegiate sport governance at the NCAA Division I level. Professor Jessop has presented research on these issues at numerous international research conferences and law symposia.
Throughout her career, Professor Jessop has had the opportunity to cover sport business for a number of international media publications, including: The Huffington Post, Forbes, CNBC, and SI.com. She has published over 230 articles across these platforms and has been credentialed for sporting events including: the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star Game, NBA Finals, NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four, Indianapolis 500, Bundesliga Super Cup, and FEI World Cup. Professor Jessop frequently appears on television and radio to provide commentary and analysis on sport law and business matters.
